Here is one of the best fan made video's I have seen that at least can give us a pretty good taste of what that might be like.

Can Who Make Time for War?
I doubt they will ever do it, but I would love to see one of the TV specials planned for after series 4 to be dedicated to telling us about the time war; at least as part of a flash back that would be related to a current storyline involving Tennant. It just would be great to see Paul McGann back as the Doctor, giving him a chance to be the older wiser version of his character that he only had one opportunity to play on television. And of course seeing the regeneration from 8 to 9 would be great too ending with a nice cameo of Eccleston to fill in all the gaps .

I'd like snippets/flashbacks. Don't think we should ever see the whole thing - it'd blast every WHO fan's imaginations up. It's great to imagine it.
However, a nice return from 8 and 9 would be awesome. If we got 7 in there too... WOWOWOW!
I agree completely! That's also one of my favorite videos on YouTube, very nicely done. I'm hoping for the same, Time War snippets/flashbacks.
I'm so excited. :D
Five Daleks have been spotted on set for S4's FINALE and they've been heard saying "Transporting TARDIS to Crucible".
Any ideas?
EDIT: It may've been Cruciform or Crucible.
I'd like to see the Doctor reunited with his 'Granddaughter'. Back in the William Hartnell days he told Susan as he was leaving that he'd come back for her someday :P
He never came back :O
Ah well.
Probably sick of buying bandages for her!
That was pretty cool. I've never seen any episodes before the current series so I don't know anything about the Time War except for what Eccleston has alluded to.
How did the "old" series end? I mean what happened in the last few episodes/movies before the current series kicked off with Eccleston? Was the Time War alluded to as well or did it just end, and the new team just tossed that in as a neat bridge?
As far as I know the idea of the Time War was a RTD idea that was made up for the new series. It wasn't referenced at all in the old series.
I just think that when they re-launched the Doctor Who franchise they though that having the Doctor be "the last of the Time Lords" would be more sexy than having a universe full of these guys.
I think it has added some qualities to develop in the Doctor's character that we have not seen before. Overall, I think it has been a good thing.
